Antitrust wants cos to sell 5% of produced fertilizers via exchange

MOSCOW, May 7 (PRIME) -- The Federal Antimonopoly Service wants Russian fertilizer producers that dominate the market to sell 5% of their output and 10% of sales at a commodity exchange, the service said in a draft ruling published on Tuesday on the government’s website for disclosure of legal information.

“The minimum amount of mineral fertilizers and of raw materials that contain phosphorous, nitrogen, or potassium that should be sold through a commodity exchange by a company that holds a dominating position at the wholesale markets…stands at 5% of the amount of production…and at 10% of the combined amount of sales (of the company),” the draft read.

The service will calculate the minimum threshold of exchange trade for each company on a monthly basis using production and sales figures for a previous year, according to the ruling that the service drafted together with the Industry and Trade Ministry.
